After trying several front-end development technologies and figuring out what was closest to her, she took over the UX\/UI department in mid-2021. We spoke with her in 2022 about her startup and evolution, daily work at BITS, and the user experience in our projects.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/i><\/div>BITS:<\/h2><\/div><\/div>\n“Hi Jarmila, why don’t you introduce yourself?”<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/i><\/div>Jarmila:<\/h2><\/div><\/div>\n“Hi, I’m Jarmila and I’ve been in web design and web development since 2018. At BITS I have <\/span>January 2019<\/span> started with usability and frontend development. I was particularly interested in the topic of UX\/UI from the very beginning, so it gradually became more and more a part of my work at BITS.<\/span>en<\/span> Focus slipped.” <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/i><\/div>BITS:<\/h2><\/div><\/div>“How did you hear about BITS?”<\/strong><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/i><\/div>Jarmila:<\/h2><\/div><\/div>\n“It was a personal recommendation that led me to BITS. A very nice coincidence that opened the door to my professional career.”<\/p>\n<\/div>
<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/i><\/div>BITS:<\/h2><\/div><\/div>“That sounds exciting and how did your start at BITS go?”<\/strong><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/i><\/div>Jarmila:<\/h2><\/div><\/div>\n“When I started, I was still training almost full-time, so I started with a few hours a week. This gave both sides <\/span>the possibility,<\/span> to get to know each other. On the <\/span>Work<\/span>The atmosphere was friendly, appreciative and relaxed, the tasks varied and interesting, so even after graduating, I am still very happy. <\/span>diploma<\/span> with pleasure <\/span>here<\/span>stayed<\/span>.” <\/span> <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/i><\/div>BITS:<\/h2><\/div><\/div>“What were your duties there?” <\/strong><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/i><\/div>Jarmila:<\/h2><\/div><\/div>\n“At that time, we developed an application in the healthcare sector for a clinic in Munich. My task was first to take a close look at the usability of the app, later I got involved in the development. Over time, other projects came along in which I was involved in frontend development. In the process, I was able to work with several different technologies and find out what I was most comfortable with.”<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/i><\/div>BITS:<\/h2><\/div><\/div>“And what exactly do you do every day at BITS?” <\/strong><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/i><\/div>Jarmila:<\/h2><\/div><\/div>\n“We currently have several UX\/UI projects underway, and we are noticing that user experience and usability are becoming more and more important. <\/span>gain<\/span>. The applications and websites should not only be designed vividly, but should be easy and intuitive to use, so that they simplify the user’s life. We optimize outdated applications and develop prototypes for new apps for our customers. Also a new website for a longtime customer from <\/span>the <\/span>healthcare sector as well as an application from the automotive industry are currently pending. I work with different teams of ours depending on the project, always where the UX\/UI is at the time.”<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/i><\/div>BITS:<\/h2><\/div><\/div>“And how exactly do you go about doing that?” <\/strong><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/i><\/div>Jarmila:<\/h2><\/div><\/div>\n“When creating prototypes for our custom software, we work according to the Lean UX method and always get feedback on currently implemented steps within short sprints. We always start with the analysis of the context of use and derive the requirements for use from this. <\/span>from<\/span>. This gives us a picture of the <\/span>End<\/span>–<\/span>Users<\/span> and the context<\/span>, <\/span>in which the application is to be used. In the next step, we gradually create the click model, which is continuously improved through iterative evaluation. Throughout the process, we stay in close communication with the customer until all specifications are met.” <\/span> <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/i><\/div>BITS:<\/h2><\/div><\/div>“What would you say you like best about working at BITS?”<\/strong><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/i><\/div>Jarmila:<\/h2><\/div><\/div>\n“I very much appreciate the good atmosphere, friendly communication and flat hierarchies. The GFs don’t hide behind the office door, but always keep an open ear for our concerns and come up with very original team building event ideas. After work, people often go to the beer garden together or spontaneously play a round of table football. You can also combine work and private life very well.
